Craigcrook Management Services Limited was established in 2000 to provide Consultancy Services to businesses regulated by firstly the FSA and then the FCA. While the business is based in Edinburgh it provides its services throughout the United Kingdom.

We have established contracts with:

We have experience of the Capital Requirements Directive having advised on completing ICAAPs; the Liquidity Rules having advised on an Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment (ILAA); it has advised on the implementation of the RDR and the FCA requirements on the Consumer Duty and on Suitability. We have provided advice and training on the Mortgage Market Review; the Consumer Credit regulation by the FCA (which is being replaced by new regulations) and MiFID II. 

We have also been involved in the Due Diligence on Investment Platforms and Investment providers and the selection of Investment Platforms.

We are very interested in discussions with any business that requires General Advice, FCA Authorisation, Change in Controlled Activities, Regulatory Reporting or help with these.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Craigcrook Management Services Limited is to provide advice to its clients which will enable them to provide a good compliant service to their clients or customers allowing them to grow and develop.

Carbon Footprint

Craigcrook Management Services Limited will use a low carbon footprint in its engagements but the carbon footprint will be subject to the client’s requirements. Craigcrook Management Services Limited will offer meetings using a Hybrid basis using Microsoft Teams or Zoom at least part of the time.

William Macdonald

Managing Director

William Macdonald has a wide-ranging experience over 30 years in Compliance and Regulatory matters relating to Banking and all types of investment and insurance business. He also has over 40 years of experience in Banking and is a Chartered Banker as well as a Fellow of the Institute.

He either has advised or currently advises with Banks, Private Banks, Payment Services providers, Stockbrokers, Fund Managers, Investment Trusts (where registered with the FCA) Insurance Brokers, Consumer Credit Providers and Private Equity firms. He has experience of the Capital Requirements Directive having advised on completing ICAAPs; the Liquidity Rules having advised on an Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment (ILAA); he had advised on the implementation of the RDR and the FCA requirements on the Consumer Duty and on Suitability. He has provided advice and training on the Mortgage Market Review; the Consumer Credit regulation by the FCA (which is being replaced by new regulations) and MiFID II. 

He has also been involved in the Due Diligence on Investment Platforms and Investment providers and the selection of Investment Platforms.

He was the founding Chairman of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) Compliance Forum and is the Past President of the CISI Scottish Region. He is a current member of the Examination Board and is an Honorary Fellow of the CISI.

Other experienced former Compliance Officers will be introduced where the Engagement requires it or are required by business requirements.
